The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects that over 20 million new jobs will be added by the year 2020; however, some jobs are clearly growing faster than others. Following is a look at some careers with exponential job growth that don’t require a college degree to pursue.

Personal Care and Home Health Aides

Job growth in this field is set between 69% and 70%, making it the fastest-growing job market in the United States. In some states you only need on the job training while other states require some formal training from a community college, vocational school or home health care agency.

Masonry

Masonry jobs are set to increase by over 60% up to the year 2020. You can either learn the trade via an apprenticeship or receive some formal training at a local vocational or technical school. Green construction skills are set to be in particularly high demand so make sure you choose a line of work or study opportunities that provide you with skills in this line of work.

Event Planning

While many employers prefer to work with those who hold a bachelor’s degree, you do not necessarily need such a degree to be successful in this field. Start your own company, get CMP accreditation and gain valuable experience by offering to plan small charitable events for your church and/or local charities. Job growth in this field is currently set at over 43%.

Translations

Job growth in this field is set at over 42% and translators who can speak commonly translated languages such as Portuguese, Italian, French, German and Spanish are set to be in demand both now and in the future. While a bachelor’s degree can help you get ahead in this field, it is not always necessary.

If you don’t have the time or financial resources to get a college education, take heart. If you are willing to work hard, you can find financially rewarding work in these and other fields.
